Check with each provider to learn about the specific state they serve. serve the following states:
We are considered out-of-network providers and do not currently accept insurance. We are able to provide you with a Superbill to submit to your insurance provider. Depending on deductibles and out-of-network coverage, many of our clients are reimbursed between 50-80% of the full fee or of your allowed amount...
Please speak with your insurance provider for more information about reimbursement.
Cost per session ranges between $190 - 300. Please call or text the clinic to determine a particular clinican's rate.
We determine each clinician's hourly rate based on their years of experience treating anxiety and OCD, and the different states in which a clinician is licensed to practice. The fee listed is for 60-minute session (Billing CPT Code 90837), and additional time is prorated each 15-minutes according to specific fee.
Spending money on your mental health needs is an investment in your current wellness, your physical health, your capacity to earn and participate in your life in meaningful ways, and in your future. We believe that you will see a return on your investment that makes the investment worthwhile.
All our clinicians are trained in and receive ongoing training in the treatment of anxiety disorders and provide services that are highly specialized in their field. Their rates reflect their level of expertise and their ongoing devotion to delivering the highest standard of care. This means that receiving treatment with them is likely to take less time and be longer lasting than it is receiving care from a less skilled provider.
We choose not to work with insurance companies because accepting insurance often comes at the expense of clinical care and sound clinical judgment.
Insurance companies offer reimbursement to clinicians at a rate that is often far less than that clinician's hourly rate, and negotiation may be required in order to secure a higher reimbursement rate.
For example, a WCA clinician charges $275/hour and ABC Insurance may only be willing to pay $100/hour; After negotiations, ABC Insurance may reimburse $125/hour, and with your co-pay of $50/hour, the clinician ends up receiving $175/hour, which is $100 less than the full hourly fee. In order to offset the reduction in pay that arises as a result of accepting insurance, many mental health clinicians are upping the number of clients they see each day beyond what is clinically recommended.
In addition to the direct-client hour, clinicians are also required to complete documentation and plan for treatment, all of which are unpaid administrative hours. This work coupled with a high number of client hours is a significant contributor to clinician burnout, and clinicians who are burned out are more likely to make mistakes and practice with impaired ethical judgment.
Clinicians at West Coast Anxiety are asked to see no more than 20 clients each week, which allows them to spend more time focusing on your care needs. We prioritize the health not only of our clients but also the clinicians who serve them.
As of October 1, 2023, we are opening an Internship Training Program for Masters- and PhD-level students who will be directly supervised by our expert clinicians; This program will be low-cost but is not currently available. The waitlist and rates are available below.
The best way to get an appointment is to connect with our Care Coordinator directly for an intake coordination session. They will help you determine the best clinician for your needs, and find a time that works for you. If this doesn't work, you can always click the "Request an Appointment" button and log into our client portal. You'll be required to provide a credit card to secure your appointment (whether you do book online or through text), but we don't charge anything until after your appointment has occurred.
Once you click the "Request an Appointment," click, "New Client," and then you'll see availability for our clinicians; please make sure to select a clinician who is licensed in your state. If a clinician is not listed in the website, this likely means that they are currently full, but you can always call or text to double check. If you'd like to be added to a certain clinician's waitlist (and they have no availability online), please email info@westcoastanxiety.com.
Make sure to read our Billing & Cancellation Policy for more details.

When a service takes place via Telehealth, we add a '95' modifier code to notify insurance companies that the session was virtual.
Thousands of studies have shown the effectiveness of telemental health services for specific populations, across all age groups, and with all disorders. Read more about three of those meta-analyses here.
Clients at WCA are responsible for submitting their own statements/paperwork to insurance for out-of-network reimbursement. WCA will not bill insurance companies on behalf of clients for out-of-network claims.
However, we will provide you with a Superbill that has all the necessary information to submit for reimbursement. This can be arranged either with your therapist directly or with the clinic's administrative team.
In order to ensure the highest quality of training and treatment delivery standards, each of our clinicians has completed Exposure and Response Prevention training with the Behavioral Therapy Training Institute (BTTI) through the International OCD Foundation.
In order to complete a specific level of training through the BTTI, a specific hours and clients served is required: This metric provides us with a more objective measure of experience upon which to determine fees.
Additionally, Clinician's fees are determined by their level of training and credential, Independent or Associate.
Independently Licensed Clinicians
These clinicians have extensive experience treating anxiety disorders and while they regularly participate in clinical consultation, they are legally permitted to practice independently (i.e. without supervision).
Associate Licensed Clinicians
These clinicians are newer to the mental health field and are legally required to receive supervision, either from one of our in-house clinicians or from a provider in the community. If you are meeting with an associate clinician, therapy will take place with your specific clinician, your treatment plan and oversight of your care will be a collaborative endeavor involving their supervisor.
There is a shortage of clinicians who have been adequately trained to treat anxiety, anxiety-spectrum disorders, and OCD specifically; Exposure and response prevention therapy (ERP), a form of cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) is the most effective treatment for obsessive compulsive disorder (Law & Boisseau, 2019), Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Social Anxiety Disorder. Post Traumatic Stress Disorder is also treated using a form of ERP called Prolonged Exposure for PTSD (PE-PTSD).
Given that the anxiety maintenance model is the same for a variety of anxiety disorders, we believe that if all our clinicians have a baseline understanding of ERP, we will be able to better serve all anxiety and anxiety-related disorders.
WCA offers a wide-variety of process-based treatments, and your treatment plan is collaborative; you always have a choice for how to proceed. It's important to keep in mind that anxiety and anxiety-related disorders often involve avoidance of feared stimuli, and in order to effectively treat this anxiety, any evidence-based treatment plan will likely involve exposure to the things you've been avoiding! If you've been in therapy for a long time and it hasn't been effective (and you haven't been doing exposure), this may be the reason.
For more about ERP and the evidence-based treatments that WCA uses, visit our Treatments page.
We treat a wide variety of disorders - from Generalized Anxiety to Disordered Eating to Bipolar Disorder. Please visit our Treatment page for more details.
Good Faith Estimates
Beginning 1/01/2022, Standard Notice of “Right to Receive a Good Faith Estimate of Expected Charges” Under the No Surprises Act, PART II, for all healthcare providers to share [(enacted as part of the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2021 (Pub.L. 116-260)]:
You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost. Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services. This is called a Good Faith Estimate (GFE)
You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate (GFE) for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.
Make sure your health care provider gives you a GFE in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item, if you do not plan to submit your receipts (or “super bill”) to your insurance company for reimbursement.
You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.
If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.
Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.
For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call this office (or your provider, if different) after you have scheduled an appointment or before your next scheduled appointment.
